First Class have been so busy this Spring, learning a lot of new things. After learning how to write and tell the time, we recently designed our own clocks to show everyone how good we are at this! We now know when it is half past and any o’clock time, so if you meet us anywhere, don’t forget to stop and ask us what time it is!
Fourth & Fifth class have been busy learning about the Ancient Romans in history. They have learned a lot about these people.
The Romans made very elaborate mosaics. They made counter tops, walls and even whole floors of rooms out of mosaics. Mosaics were practical because they were easy to wash and helped to keep the house cool. They were also beautiful. The Romans loved to combine a practical purpose with wonderful art.
Here are examples of the mosaics we created from glass tiles.
We are enjoying swimming every Friday with second class.
This week we created our own self-portraits. They are outside our classroom. Come in and have a look! This month we have been learning about subtraction. We are all wonderful mathematicians! We are very excited for Halloween.
Happy Halloween from 1st class!
