Celebrating our ASF motto: ‘Go Training Even When It’s Raining’

Junior and Senior Infants at the start of our Active Schools Walkway, this route is proving to be very popular.

All classes took part in the qualifiers for Cork City Sports. Their daily running sessions for the ‘Run Around Ireland’ really paid off. Well done to everyone.

6th class completed their Cycle Sense programme under beautiful blue skies, what a day!

After 4 weeks of Running Around Ireland, we managed to run further than the length of the Irish coastline-3,200km, what an achievement!

At the end of week 3, we are over two-thirds of the way around Ireland!

Our students are busy training and competing in various sports outside of school, from road bowling to soccer and everything in between!

Cycle Sense

6th class pupils are undertaking a 6 week block with Cycle Sense where they are learning all about safe cycling and the rules of the road

Playground leaders

Every Friday, four children from 6th class take on the responsibility of organising and managing games for junior and senior infants. The 6th class work in groups of 2. One group works with one half and the other group work with the other half. After 10 mins, the children switch groups.

The playground leaders also have the responsibility of reffing and keeping score of all the school league games that take place during each lunch break

School league finals

Every year the top teams from the school leagues partake in the school league finals. There are 3 finals, a boys football final, a girls football final and a hurling final

The finals take place on the same day and are watched by the whole school. The winners of the final are presented with a prize by the principal at the end of the day.
