My name is Isobel Lannin and I am 10 years old and am a 5th class student at Scoil Mhuire National School. When I was in 2nd class I was involved in a class project with Ms. Kennedy and a local artist Maria Pizzuti. We wrote the story of William Lamport, helped by Ms. Kennedy and Maria made beautiful tapestry panels based on our stories. Anyway, you might be wondering who is William Lamport??? Well, he is known as the Irish Zorro, born in Wexford, and thought to have inspired the Zorro character we know from the film. He supported  the Mexican fight for independence and is very famous there. The Mexican ambassador to Ireland loved our tapestry so much that he has arranged for it to travel to Mexico City to exhibit it!!! I am going to bring it there (with my Mum) and make sure it is displayed properly. and hopefully will meet the generous sponsors, The Municipality of Huixquilucan (how do I pronounce this????), the Irish Minister Brendan Howlin and many other people. I am an ambassador for everybody who worked on this project and am going to make sure everybody in Mexico City knows about our school and village. Follow my posts for updates on my epic adventure.

    Hallo Isobel,
    How are you?
Im the father of 2 girls that go to your school in Schull, and i actually work in Mexico, off Matamoros which is situated on the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, on the southern bank of the Rio Grande, beside the city of Brownsville which is located in the American state of Texas, directly north across the bank of the Rio Grande.
The Mexicans(Aztec/Spanish), are very nice people, the country is huge.
    So enjoy your holiday.
